Privacy Breach at Google Docs

Software applications are taking hold of being available in an online format. However, there is a certain drawback to this, which is theĀ  potential for unauthorized access to it. This affects large as well as smaller companies.Recently, Google disclosed a breach in its Google Docs application resulted in a number of online documents being revealed to users who didn’t have permission to view them. This was actually the result of a software glitch, and fewer than 0.05% of the documents became available to non-authorized web users.

As business etiquette dictates, Google did inform the people involved in this bug and remedied the error. The bug became evident when users changed the settings for document sharing on numerous presentations and documents at the same time, which caused the disclosing of those documents with other people that the document owners had exchanged a document previously.
