One way to be a pioneer when it comes to solar power utilization is to create your own town that runs on the sun’s rays. This is what Syd Kitson of a place called Babcock Ranch is intending to do. Kitson, who previously played pro football in the NFL is working to achieve his green goal in the southwest Florida location. The town’s green energy will entail having a significant power plant and a very advanced power generation and transmission grid. The planing for the town goes beyond a mere focus on solar power generation to also havingĀ a downtown bike path, sustainable retail shops and more.
Although many people have viewed Kitson’s idea to originate from being bumped on the head a few extra times, but he brushes any minimization of his idea. Notably, the utility company Florida Power and Light already has shown interest in providing a 75-megawatt photovoltaic power plant, which is twice as large as a Germany plant, considered until now to be the world leader.
